My 1st blood donation
Date: 22.12.2013
Time: 11.30am
Venue: KK Tzer Ying Buddhist Temple
This was a coincidence. I was telling aunt that I wanted to go for blood donation in Beaufort but we had to go home to look after the house from flooding, so we didn't make it. I told her that I never done this and I would give a try. She quickly replied "there is one tomorrow at temple starts from 9am". I was like "great, lets do this!"
I am not afraid of needles or what so ever, I always look at the needle when it pokes me. It sounds like I m psychopath. No I am not, I am just brave. Yes I am brave! But to be honest, the needle for dripping is way over my limit! Ok, back to blood donation!
I was still deciding whether i should go, i started to ask my good friend, Mr Google, whether I m fit to do this. I tick all the boxes. SO there we go.
The whole process went so fast. Got there, filled up form, blood sugar level test, get my body weight, interview, blood pressure test, some other tests tat i dont know what. I'm lucky enough to have a very experienced nurse. First needle to make my vein swell (as per my SG sister), second needle is for withdrawing my blood into the bag. First needle is like ant stung and i didn't feel anything for second needle even though its way bigger than the first one. It only took 10 min to fill up a 350cc bag. That's it, all done! Of course, you will get some complimentary food and drinks in return of your generosity!
This is certificate, i will call it little red booklet instead to record my generosity!

In progress!
For the whole process I did not feel pain or dizzy. This is something everyone should do whenever its possible. My advise is drink plenty water before and after blood donation. Its extremely important. Don't be afraid of this. Be brave! You would never imagine how much this means.
